For most homes using their heat pump for heating in winter only. Annual service in autumn before winter is the right time — catches any issues before peak demand.
Twice a year
Year-round use
If you run your heat pump for both heating and cooling, twice-yearly servicing keeps efficiency up and wear down. Before winter and before summer.
As needed
After something changes
Higher power bills, reduced performance, unusual smells, or after a severe storm — any of these warrant a service call regardless of when you last had one.

How long does a service take?
For a single indoor and outdoor unit, typically 1–2 hours. Multi-room systems take longer depending on the number of indoor units. We'd rather take the time to do it properly than rush and miss something.
Can I service my heat pump myself?
You can and should clean your filters yourself every few months — rinse them under a tap and let them dry before replacing. Beyond that, deep cleaning internal components and checking refrigerant levels requires specialist equipment and a licensed technician.
Do you service heat pumps installed by other companies?
Yes, we service all brands regardless of who installed them. Your heat pump doesn't care who put it in — it just needs proper maintenance to keep running efficiently.
What if you find a problem during the service?
We explain what we've found in plain English and give you options. Sometimes it's something minor we can fix on the spot. Other times you might need parts or a more involved repair. We tell you what actually needs doing — not what earns us the most.
What's the difference between a service and a clean?
A clean focuses on removing dirt and buildup. A full service includes the clean plus electrical safety checks, refrigerant level testing, performance verification, and a written condition report. We include both as standard — see the full checklist above.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
Most manufacturers require annual servicing to maintain warranty cover. Having it done by a qualified technician and keeping the written reports is the best way to protect yourself if a warranty claim arises later.
